Standards
We constantly monitor the standards, trends and developments in W3C, Accessibility, Interoperability, Metadata, web technologies and government guidelines with which all web content management systems should adhere.
CMS Trends
Content Management Systems and their functionality are evolving to encompass an organisation's total information requirements. Terms such as ECMS (Enterprise Content Management Systems) and KM (Knowledge Management) represent just two of these trends.
Bringing together all data, application, document and content within an organisation requires several disciplines.
Our approach has been to expand our own skills and knowledge-base to embrace the latest in content management and where this requires new disciplines, to work with best-of-breed technology partners to integrate that product and discipline with ComWeb.
CompuCraft have used this approach in three key areas to date:
- Electronic Document and Records Management, where we work closely with Document Management vendors
- Enterprise Search Engines, where we have accommodated search engine traversal of dynamic sites
- Portal Technologies, where we are investigating the integration of several best-of-breed portal technologies to enhance delivery of a total solution to a client's ECM or KM requirements.
ComWeb V3 was certified within an Apache and Sun One ASP (formerly Chillisoft) environment for both dynamic and statis deployments. As ComWeb V4 uses XML and XSLT, ComWeb V4 will only support these platforms as a static deployment. Please contact us for details.
Trends and standards governing web technologies are under constant review by Compucraft's R&D team.
